I haven't purchased this product but feel, in its defense, that it deserves better than two stars from people who clearly were misled by the words "organic cotton bassinet pad" into thinking that this was for a crib. My husband and I were uncertain what part of "bassinet pad" looked like "crib" or "crib mattress cover," and hope other people might give the product a chance, perhaps by correctly reading the product description!

I give this 2 stars simply because the product is supposed to be organic cotton, but since I can't use it, I can't say how it has worked out.

When I looked at this listing, I foolishly assumed it was a crib mattress size pad. It doesn't say in the heading that it is bassinet size. Not until you scroll half way down the page to 'Product Details' does it say or give any size dimensions. I must have missed that before I ordered. I would urge Amazon to have this product's heading changed to include the words 'bassinet size' or 'bassinet pad'. Or at least move the product details UP closer to the top of the page instead having us scroll past unrelated stuff making us think we've come to the end of the product's description. Even at check out there was NO mention of size to help the buyer be sure they had the correct product.

I passed the pad on to a second hand store as a donation. I could have contacted Amazon about the mistake, but since the information technically IS there & I just didn't see it, I chose to eat the cost.

The bassinet we have for our baby is one we received from friends who used it for all of their kids. The mattress, or pad, it came with was flimsy and made of foam. This mattress is perfect. I did not have any size issues since I actually measured my bassinet before ordering to make sure it was the right fit. The mattress fits great, is firm but, not rock hard and has a built-in protector for spit-up or other accidents. I love that it is organic, so no need to worry about what chemicals your baby is inhaling.

This bassinet mattress is of very good quality. It is much thicker than the flimsy pad that originally came with the bassinet. Unfortunately, I only gave it 3 stars because of the size. The mattress was too small for the bassinet. There was too much of a gap between it and the walls of the bassinet, therefore I had to send it back. I would recommend carefully measuring your bassinet before buying this product. However, I was easily able to return it to the company for a refund. I was very happy with the customer service from the company.

I use this pad for my baby and I to sleep on at night. It is big enough to protect from any diaper spills as well as breast milk leaks. It is reasonably soft, breathes well and it does a great job catching the spills. I just wish it was a little more substantial in its weight, as it tends to bunch up and fold underneath us a bit. Overall though I found it to be a good buy.

We purchased these in 8/08 after reading the 6/08 review (hence we took into account the non-organic materials, which we appreciate that the reviewer pointed out).

+While the pad is bulkier than typical, this is a plus when changing our daughter on a hard public surface such as a bathroom floor or changing table (I put a disposable changing pad underneath though so the cloth doesn't absorb any dirt/germs.)

+The pads are extremely absorbent. We use them when we give our daughter 'air time' and our area rugs have always stayed dry.

+Finally while they initially 'pilled' during the wash they have held up extremely well during the last 6 months of washing/drying. I believe they would last through multiple children.

This is a nice and soft pad, however, what the description does not mention is that only the surface material is organic cotton. The filling is 100% polyester and it is backed with 100% polyurethane tricot, and this renders it not reversible. Also, it is not a thin pad, like I assumed, and it won't fold flat and carry easily. I called the manufacturer as I was concerned about what was used for the microbial protection and was informed that no chemical protection was used, the protection comes from the way the fabric is made. I have yet to try how waterproof it is. Nice and soft, but thicker than I thought it was, and I don't like that it is filled with the polyester for padding.

These are great, they are perfect to put under my baby while I'm changing her, as she loves to pee when I am in the middle of changing her. These are very absorbebt and I can just switch out the pad when she pee's on it, instead of having to wash the entire changing pad cover every time. They are perfect and I am ordering more. Bottom line: I like them, and plan on buying the bigger size. Keep in mind that these are advertised as 'lap size'. Also, the TOP is 100% organic cotton; the backing is not. Don't remember what the filling is.

These pads are two of the best items I have purchased so far for my baby! I use one or both of them every day to keep the baby on for air time out of her diaper as well as when I have the baby with me on the bed or couch--even when the baby is diapered--just in case. I bought these to protect my baby's organic mattress...I paid good money for the mattress and I was hoping for a 100% organic pad to protect it. I got it in the mail today and it is 100% cotton on the top but has a 100% polyester backing. I did not want polyester and wish they would have disclosed this.
