Taking my friend's advice I purchased this "playard" instead of a crib and it has been one of the most useful baby items. We padded the bottom with a blanket under the sheet and my daughter slept at the high position up to her 7th month after which we had to lower it to prevent her from flipping over. Now at 11 months she still plays in it, naps during the day and sleeps at night. The playard is easy to fold and unfold, convenient to travel with, but we never took the changing table, which I used rarely only in the first few months. The animals were not very interesting to her in the beginning, but soon enough she acknowledged the black and white zebra by smiling at it and batting it often. Later she started biting into everything including all of the animals, which are small enough and to aid teething. I suppose we will still use this playard until she outgrows it and starts sleeping on the full-size bed we have in her room (with protective bed rails, of course).

I purchased this playard and absolutely love it! I have set it up in my family room and without exception, have received compliments about how beautiful it is from everyone who has come over to visit.
What I love about this playard:
-It has a well cushioned (and washable) pad/mattress which makes it very comfortable for baby to sleep in.
-It has a larger sleeping area compared to other brands.
-It is easy to pack-up and set-up.
-It has a sturdy structure (including the bassinet).
-The material is very plush and it also has meshed sides and retractable panels.
-The play gym is VERY cute and definitely a bonus feature.
-The change table folds away.

Reading previous reviews - I do have to admit that the Lullaby Playard is a bit heavy and bulky so moving it can be a little hard. That's why I gave it only 4 instead of 5 stars. But, when travelling I would leave the removable changing table and the play gym at home which definitely cuts down on the weight and bulk.
Otherwise, I am very happy with the Playard. It is very nicely padded and looks extremely comfortable. The removable changing table is wonderful to have and with the little play gym that is included you don't have to buy another gym for another $60. We also have the Chicco Sahara high chair and travel system and are overall extremely satisfied with the Chicco line of products. All materials are very high quality, easy to clean and we love the colors (good for both little boys and girls). Even the assembly was very easy. Since my husband is in the military and was not available to put the playard together, I still did it myself in about half an hour.
We are very happy with the Lullaby Playard and would buy it again if we had to!

We purchased this playard for our new baby. We hate it and would return it if we could. It is so heavy and bulky. Once it's up you won't want to take it down. To us a playard should be convient to take with you and be mobile, but we can't take it anywhere. The pad is nice and the overall quality is good, but it's so heavy and hard to put away. One thing we really don't like is that when the activity gym portion is up, you can't use the changing table that comes with it. You have to take down the activity gym. This is no simple task since the way it assembles is with snaps inside small loops. Needless to say we will probably never use the changing pad because of this. Also, the pad just zips on unlike the Graco's that are on metal hinges. If we had to do it all over again, we would get the Baby Einstein playard. Our baby loves the Baby Einstein activity mat we purchased him and will play with it for hours, so we know he would love it. The animals on this yard don't entertain him at all. We love Chicco, we own the Cortina travel system which we would recommend to anyone, but the playard is not what we had hoped for.

I love my Chicco Lullaby Playard. It is both attractive and functional! The bassinet is fantastic -- larger than the Graco models and very nicely padded. Easy to set up and take apart. And the pad and toy attachment doubles as a gym -- no need to purchase a separate one! And as another reviewer note, no more annoying plaids!!! My only complaint is that the bassinet mattress/playard pad does not have sheets or a removable cover. You need to wash the entire pad (and therefore can't use the yard) when baby spits up or makes any other mess. But I called Chicco customer service to ask about an additional pad and they are available. The rep sent one out to me right away...I had it within 2 days of making my call. So the great customer service makes up for this slight design flaw!
